Crimes of Communism require the same condemnation and awareness as the crimes of the Nazi regime, Estonian Minister of Justice Urmas Reinsalu said in his speech at a ceremony at a memorial to victims of Communism near the Slovak capital Bratislava.
“A year ago a group of countries issued a call at the initiative of Estonia to set up an institution for the investigation of the crimes of Communism. The point behind this initiative is unambiguous and clear — the victims have the right to justice and remembrance,” Reinsalu said.
