RIGA - The Constitutional Court's involvement in the evaluation of processes in Latvia contributes to a good and high-quality legislative process, President Edgars Rinkevics believes.

As the president's adviser Martins Dregeris told LETA, Rinkevics met with Aldis Lavins, President of the Constitutional Court on Friday.

Discussions at the meeting focused on the Constitutional Court's international cooperation, current judicial matters and the strengthening the independence of the judiciary.

In the conversation, the president of the Constitutional Court briefed Rinkevics on the Council of Europe's project, implemented by the Constitutional Court to support Ukraine's Constitutional Court and facilitating Ukraine's integration with the European Union (EU).

The president highly appreciated the Constitutional Court's active cooperation with other countries' constitutional courts, thus strengthening the rules-based international order and the rule of law.
