Case against pro-Kremlin activist Lindermans for supporting Russia's crimes handed down to court

RIGA - The prosecution has handed down to court the case against pro-Kremlin activist Vladimirs Lindermans for supporting Russia's crimes in Ukraine.

Without naming the person, the prosecution office informed LETA that a pro-Kremlin activist has been accused of supporting and glorification of Russia's aggressive war in Ukraine, as well as instigating hatred among different nationalities in Latvia,

After Russia's attack on Ukraine, the State Security Service (VDD) noticed that the person on internet platforms systematically disseminates messages that meet Russia's interests, acquitting Russia's military aggression against Ukraine and its residents. During investigation, VDD also discovered that the person's activities on internet were aimed at instigating hatred among different groups and nationalities of people.

The accused person had been publishing such materials for a period of several months.

LIndermans' lawyer Jelena Kvjatkovska told LETA that her client denies his guilt.

VDD launched a criminal case on June 7, 2022. In June, Lindermans was arrested, but later he was released on EUR 6,000 bail.

The State Security Service had been watching Linderman's pro-Kremlin activities for quite a long time.
