Canadian officially extends contract with Latvian ice hockey team

Canadian coach Bob Hartley has officially signed his contract to stay on as the head coach of the Latvian national men's ice hockey team, the Latvian Ice Hockey Federation informed. According to the agreement, Hartley will stay on as the head coach of the Latvian team for the next five years, or until after the 2022 Beijing Olympics. Hartley became the head coach of the Latvian team last year, and signed a 1+1 agreement with the LHF. He led Latvia to a tenth place finish at this year's Ice Hockey World Championships.
