RIGA - The Museum of the Occupation of Latvia, a private museum accredited by the Ministry of Culture, has been active since 1993, when it opened its doors in the building of the former Museum of the Latvian Red Riflemen in the Old City of Rīga. The museum holds a collection of over 55,000 items, forming the basis for extensive historical research and illustrating the facts of the three successive occupations: Soviet – Nazi – Soviet.
