Baltic, Polish culture ministers to sign declaration on support for Ukraine's cultural heritage

RIGA - On July 9, the final day of the National Song and Dance Festival, culture ministers of five countries will sign a joint declaration on Latvia, Poland, Lithuania and Estonia's support for restoration of Ukraine's cultural heritage, as Lita Kokale, head of the Public Relations Department at the Latvian Culture Ministry, informed LETA.

The declaration will be signed by Latvian Culture Minister Nauris Puntulis (National Alliance), Ukrainian Culture and Information Policy Minister Oleksandr Tkachenko, Polish Culture and National Heritage Minister Piotr Glinski, Lithuanian Culture Minister Simonas Kairys and Estonian Culture Minister Heidy Purga in the presence of UNESCO Assistant Director-General for Culture Ernesto Ottone.

The signing of the declaration on Poland and Baltic countries' support for restoration of Ukraine's cultural heritage will take place at the Latvian Architecture Museum on 9 July at 4:30 p.m.

Prior to the signing of the joint declaration, the Culture Ministry will host a high-level discussion involving the ministers of culture of Latvia, Ukraine, Poland, Lithuania and Estonia on the protection of Ukraine's cultural heritage since Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
