Autumn Flavours and World Cuisine Highlights at Jūrmala Restaurant Week

  • 2025-09-24

For the third consecutive year, Jūrmala invites food lovers to its Restaurant Week, taking place from October 6 to 19. More than 20 restaurants and cafés across the city will take part, each offering special menus in two price categories – €35 and €45.

This autumn’s unifying theme is the spirit of world cuisines expressed through the abundance of the season’s harvest. Menus spotlight pumpkin, apples, pears, quinces, wild mushrooms, and root vegetables – featured in warming cream soups, risottos, and desserts with caramelised fruits and nuts. Latvian trout, catfish, and flounder are served alongside game and forest treasures, paired with nuances of Mediterranean, Caucasian, and Asian culinary traditions.

This year, smoked flavours and truffle notes take centre stage – from beef Wellington and venison loin with wild mushroom sauce to inventive duck and lamb dishes. The seafood selection is equally enticing, with Faroese salmon, tiger prawns, mackerel, and pike enriching the offerings. International influences span a wide spectrum – from Georgian stews and hearty Armenian classics to Mediterranean tavern favourites and Japanese street food delights.

Desserts, too, have become an essential part of the culinary narrative. Guests will discover pear tartlets, quince mille-feuille, French clafoutis, and Italian classics such as tiramisu, cannoli, and panna cotta. At several restaurants, the sweet finale is complemented by a chef’s treat or a carefully paired drink, elevating the experience into a complete gastronomic journey.

This autumn, Jūrmala Restaurant Week promises a diverse voyage of flavours – from local forests to distant corners of the world – enhanced with creative chef’s compliments, curated beverage pairings, and vegetarian or vegan alternatives that make the season especially enjoyable for all.
