AS CleanR Grupa continues to strategically invest in sustainability and will introduce the ESG reporting practice

In upgrading its corporate governance model, AS CleanR Grupa is updating the work it has done to date in the realm of sustainability, introducing a new approach to reporting on sustainability. By the end of this year, the Group plans to announce its sustainability strategy for the coming years, which in will make it possible to measure the Group's environmental, economic and social impact more precisely the long-term, in accordance with the best international practices. As part of this process, this year the Group continues to make strategic financial investments in the introduction and development of environmentally friendly solutions.

The new sustainability strategy will facilitate sustainable decision-making within all of the Group's companies and help to integrate aspects of sustainability into its internal and external processes. AS CleanR Grupa's sustainability strategy will be binding on all Group companies including the household waste management company SIA CleanR, the industrial waste management company SIA CleanR Verso, which specialises in construction waste and the recycled resource industry, the premises cleaning company SIA Vizii and the urban environment management business SIA Vizii Urban.

According to AS CleanR Grupa Supervisory Board Guntars Kokorevičs, “As the industry leader, we are aware of our economic and social impact, as well as our impact on the environment. Therefore, we want to manage this more strategically, balancing our business growth goals with European Union regulatory requirements and best practice. The opinion of stakeholders matters to us as do their expectations in relation to the contribution of CleanR Grupa companies to the development of the industry and the state, so we are currently upgrading the Group's sustainability strategy, defining priority areas, attainable goals and developing a system of measurements that will enable us to efficiently keep track of our progress in fulfilling our objectives.”

In conformity with sustainability goals, this year CleanR Grupa businesses have continued to develop by investing in modernization. Accordingly, since 2021 the Group has invested over EUR 2.5 million in buying environmentally friendly vehicles. The Group has also invested millions of euros in increasing production efficiency and modernization, infrastructure upgrades in the work environment and in the development of corporate governance, improving the efficiency of the provision of services and improving customer satisfaction, including by introducing modern IT solutions that help to effectively improve remote and self-service options.

Awareness of and management of its impact is an important cornerstone of the implementation of the Group's business goals. Therefore, parallel to the in-depth evaluation of its impact, in the long-term, the Group undertakes to measure, supervise and reduce the environmental impact of its operations, introduce new environmentally friendly solutions, as well as facilitate initiatives related to social and economic aspects.

Starting from 2023, CleanR Grupa will commence the practice of annual Group level reporting, reflecting process in environmental, social and governance or ESG matters. This will be an integral element of the evaluating of the operation of the Group and its businesses, ensuring the procedural transparency of all the Group's businesses.

Moreover, in collaboration with the leading Baltic and Scandinavian sustainability consultation company Sustinere, CleanR Grupa is complying with the principle of materiality and developing a corresponding sustainability strategy, in conformity with best practices, the requirements of the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Regulation and related standards.
