From the city of Miami in the United States, an agreement was sealed this week that already promises to transform the digital infrastructure of South America: the strategic alliance between Starlink and MultiMax, the main and largest multibrand chain in Venezuela, under the direction of businessman Nasar Dagga.
Thus, following the official announcement, this agreement formalizes MultiMax as the first official distributor of Starlink kits—the internet service division of SpaceX led by Elon Musk—in Venezuelan territory.
The negotiation, described by sources close to it as "highly productive and focused on scalability," positions Venezuela at the forefront of adopting low Earth orbit networks, a technology that until recently seemed distant and even impossible.
Starlink in Venezuela with MultiMax
Recall that, for decades, the country has depended on terrestrial infrastructure which, although robust in main metropolitan areas, remained vulnerable in remote zones.
Now, unlike traditional geostationary satellites, which orbit at about 35,000 kilometers in altitude with some signal delay, the Starlink constellation operates at only 550 kilometers from the surface.
With this physical proximity, which reduces latency to ranges of 20 to 40 milliseconds, it competes directly with the best fiber optic networks in New York or London.
Thus, for the Venezuelan user, this translates into a seamless experience for video calls, online gaming, and large data transfers, regardless of geographic location.
"Our goal is for no home or business in Venezuela to be limited by its location. This alliance with Starlink is the key to universalizing access to knowledge and the global economy," said Nasar Ramadan Dagga.
Accessible pricing structure
One of the most relevant points of the agreement signed in Miami is the adaptation of prices to ensure accessibility for consumers. Unofficially, it was learned that the hardware kit will have a reference cost of 380 dollars, a competitive price considering it eliminates the need for complex installations.
Regarding the monthly subscription, two levels have been designed:
- Standard Residential Plan, which will have an approximate value of 65 dollars, ideal for homes with multiple devices and high data demand.
- Lite Residential Plan will cost 40 dollars, an option designed for essential browsing and daily communication.
As a gesture to accelerate adoption, new users can opt for a 50% discount on their first month of service.
Venezuela with global connectivity
With the arrival of Starlink to more than 40 MultiMax stores throughout the national territory, the beginning of a new era is marked that goes beyond entertainment and social media connection; it is an effective solution for rural communities, uninterrupted distance education, and the integration of Venezuela into the great technological ecosystem led worldwide.
Thus, the alliance between Venezuelan businessman Nasar Dagga and Elon Musk's firm demonstrates that when business vision meets innovation, geographic barriers vanish.
With this, Venezuela is back on the map, and this time, the signal will be much clearer, stronger, and directly from space.
