The accommodation company Larsen has opened a modern apartment-style hostel in the Estonian capital, Tallinn, which is designed to meet the needs of start-up workers and young professionals from abroad. The company invested a total of 10 million euros in the project.

The four-storey building commissioned by Larsen houses a total of 132 apartment-style accommodation spaces.

CEO Priit Vare says that Estonia is known around Europe and globally as a successful start-up nation, and that this attracts workers from all over the world to Tallinn. “Estonian start-ups make active use of foreign talent, so an attractive rental market is an important part of the country’s value proposition for the kind of people these companies need,” he explained. Larsen sees its role as ensuring that people coming from abroad have a modern, functional living environment available to them at competitive prices, and with flexible options when it comes to moving in and out. “This new complex also takes into account the needs of younger workers,” Vare added.

Going by the name Sume, the apartment-style hostel is the most modern and stylish of its kind in Estonia. It offers contemporary lofts and studios for rent, most of which have their own balcony.

In addition to the fully furnished apartments, residents have the use of cosy and convenient communal areas: a spacious living room, a games and media room, a library, a gym, a meeting room and a rooftop terrace. The practically designed space around the building also features a community garden with greenhouses.

“In our experience, young workers from abroad value interaction, a sense of community, joint events and shared spaces where they can spend time and socialise with other residents if they want to,” said Vare. “We took all of that into account when designing and constructing Sume. The round-the-clock support we offer in the event of unexpected issues arising is an added bonus, whether someone has forgotten their key or there are problems with the water mains.”

Sume is located at Ehitajate tee 140, right next to Tallinn Zoo and close to Rocca al Mare Shopping Centre. It is well connected to the city centre and other parts of Tallinn – including its business parks – by public transport.

The apartment-style hostel is designed for anyone in need of temporary accommodation in Tallinn, whether they are staying for a few days or a few months. It is ideal for those who appreciate a modern living environment, accessibility, 24-hour customer service and flexibility when moving in and out.

Larsen is one of the biggest accommodation companies in Estonia, providing both short- and long-stay services. Its portfolio includes five buildings in Tallinn, offering more than 600 studio-style rooms with kitchenettes.
