VILNIUS – Lithuanian Minister of National Defense Arvydas Anusauskas met with his Croatian counterpart Mario Banozic in Rukla, central Lithuania, on Monday.
The two ministers discussed bilateral cooperation in the area of security and defense, the importance and necessity of supporting Ukraine, the priorities of the upcoming NATO summit in Vilnius. Anusauskas thanked Croatia for its contribution to the strengthening of deterrence and defense in the Baltic region, the Ministry of National Defense said.
"We are grateful to Croatia for its active participation in contributing units to the NATO enhanced Forward Presence Battle Group in Lithuania. This makes a significant contribution to deterrence efforts on NATO's eastern flank," Anusauskas said.
A Croatian company with Patria combat vehicles is now stationed to Lithuania. Croatia is also participating in the Lithuanian-coordinated EU CRRTs project.
