TALLINN - airBaltic is launching three new direct routes from Tallinn for the 2026 summer season. The first direct flight to Hamburg departed on Sunday, March 29, followed by a service to Vienna on Monday, with flights to Athens set to be added on April 29.
Eero Pärgmäe, a board member of Tallinn Airport (AS Tallinna Lennujaam), said that airBaltic's route expansion confirms the airline's confidence in Tallinn Airport. "The new routes strengthen Estonia's international air connections. Hamburg and Vienna are important destinations for both business and leisure travelers, and the opening of these routes improves Estonia's connectivity with Central Europe. The Athens route, meanwhile, will create a link to Greece, offering Estonian travelers more convenient access to one of Europe's most popular holiday regions," Pärgmäe stated in a press release.
Mantas Vrubliauskas, Vice President of Network Development at airBaltic, emphasized that Tallinn is one of the airline's home bases and the company is committed to the continuous development of its local routes. "For the summer season, we are expanding our Tallinn network even further. We aim to offer Estonian travelers more choices, greater flexibility, and reliable connections for both business and leisure trips," Vrubliauskas said.
Additionally, airBaltic will increase frequencies on its Heraklion, Malta, Munich, and Riga routes during the summer season. In total, the airline will offer direct flights from Tallinn to 25 destinations this summer.
The summer flight schedule starts with the switch to daylight saving time on March 29 and will run until the clocks are turned back in the autumn on October 25, after which the winter schedule will take effect.
