““Ventspils nafta” terminals” recognised as the best employer in Kurzeme Region for the fifth time

RIGA - On Friday, 1 March, for the fifth year in row ““Ventspils nafta” termināls” (VNT) received an award in the category “Best Employer in Kurzeme Region” presented by the online recruitment company “CV-Online Latvia”. VNT was recognised as the most desirable employer in Kurzeme, in turn in Zemgale it was JSC “Dobeles dzirnavnieks”, in Vidzeme – JSC “Cēsu alus”, and in
Latgale – JSC “Latvijas maiznieks”.

"VNT focuses on a personality. If a person is a learner and contributor by heart, if he or she is motivated to engage and deliver results, such employee will always find a place at VNT regardless age, gender or nationality,” emphasises VNT HR Manager Vita Špoka. As the main reasons for choosing VNT as the best employer in Kurzeme, the respondents stated the motivating remuneration and additional bonuses (29%), good reputation of the company (26%) and great career opportunities (18%).

VNT takes care of its employees and implements various measures to improve the work environment, for example, special industrial bicycles purchased for a convenient movement in the company’s 100 ha wide territory, as well as outdoor tables for having lunch and holding meetings. The terminal organises training sessions for its employees, experience exchange trips and team-building events. VNT also invests into the development of Ventspils, where the families of VNT employees live. Last year, we supported a number of important local events in town, purchased equipment for the North Kurzeme Regional Hospital, and provided numerous
support for schools attended by the children of our employees.

The performance of the company has been recognised by governmental and non-governmental organisations in Latvia and abroad. In 2018, for the fourth consecutive year, VNT received the Platinum award in the nationwide Sustainability Index and the award “Best Employer in Kurzeme Region” presented by the online recruitment company “CV-Online Latvia”. The Ministry of Welfare granted the status “Family friendly company”, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development awarded VNT as “Environmental-Friendly Mobility Promoting Organisation”. Furthermore, VNT received the award “Golden Helmet” of State
Labour Inspectorate of Latvia and the main prize in the category "The Most Innovative Terminal in Russia & CIS" at Vostock Capital UK Oil Terminal 2018 strategic congress. Ventspils Municipality awarded VNT as the largest taxpayer in the transport and storage sector and the largest taxpayer in terms of personal income tax payment per one employee in Ventspils.

The survey “TOP Employer 2018” had been carried out by the online recruitment company “CV-Online” from 18 December 2018 until 27 January 2019, and involved a record number of respondents – almost 8 000 people.
