60% of Latvian residents believe EU support for farmers is too little - survey

RIGA - According to a Eurobarometer survey conducted in December, 60 percent of Latvian residents believe that European Union support for farmers is insufficient.

The EU average of those who believe EU support for farmers is insufficient is 26 percent.

Only 27 percent of Latvian residents believe that EU support for farmers is sufficient, with the EU average at 45 percent.

Meanwhile, 11 percent of Latvian residents did not have a view on this matter, with the EU average at 18 percent.

Furthermore, one percent of Latvian residents actually believe EU support for Latvian farmers is too great, with the EU average at 11 percent.

84 percent of Latvian residents would also like to see an increase in support for farmers in the next ten years, while the EU average is 44 percent.
