Zile elected European Parliament vice-president

RIGA - Latvian MEP Roberts Zile (National Alliance) has been elected one of the vice-presidents of the European Parliament, becoming the first Baltic representative in this post, LETA learned from the National Alliance.

Today, European Parliament lawmakers elected Maltese MEP Roberta Metsola as President of the European Parliament until 2024, and nine vice-presidents.

Zile was nominated by the European Conservatives and Reformists Group and he has become the first Baltic representative in the high position. The National Alliance also noted that he is one of the most experienced Baltic MEPS, elected and working at the European Parliament since 2004.
