RIGA - An elderly woman was killed by a falling tree branch during a storm in Jurmala on Monday, LETA was told at the Emergency Medical Service.
The Emergency Medical Service was alerted to the accident in Jurmala in the afternoon. Paramedics who arrived at the scene found that the woman was already dead.
The woman who died in the storm was 72 years old, LETA was told at the State Police.
As reported, the Latvian Environment, Geology and Meteorology Center had issued a red-level storm warning for Riga, Jurmala and municipalities around Riga on Monday.
