RIGA - The Covid-19 pandemic is not going to disappear anytime soon, which is why it is necessary to think how to ensure a "safe mode of life", Prime Minister Krisjanis Karins (New Unity) told journalists Tuesday.

Karins said that the joint meeting of the government and the Crisis Management Council on Tuesday focused on various aspects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

"It is clear that the pandemic will not disappear from the world so soon, and dealing with the pandemic will be a long-term process. That means that people and the government will have to change their thinking and approach to these issues, namely, it will be necessary to develop a safe mode of living - safe education, safe trade, safe services," the prime minister said.

In his words, experts will work out recommendations on how to ensure a "safe mode of life" in the times of pandemic.
