Whistle-blowing hacker sentenced to 100 hours community service

RIGA - Riga Regional Court on Monday sentenced Ilmars Poikans, a whistle-blowing hacker who under the nickname Neo accessed the database of the Latvian State Revenue Service (VID) and leaked the stolen data to the press in 2010, to 100 hours of community service, BNS was told at the court. The court is due to release the full text of the verdict on November 17. The verdict then can be appealed within 10 days of that date.
