Warsaw-Tallinn bus that also carried Latvian passengers crashes into a ditch in Lithuania

TALLINN - Early Monday morning, a Flixbus coach operating on the Warsaw-Tallinn route, which also carried Latvian passengers, crashed into a ditch on the Via Baltica highway in Lithuania. Several passengers were injured in the accident and taken to hospitals, Lithuanian news portal Delfi reported.

According to police, the accident occurred at 2:10 a.m. near the village of Rudiske in Marijampole municipality, on the Marijampole-Kaunas highway. The Scania coach, driven by a man born in 1968, veered off the road into a ditch, with initial reports suggesting bad weather as the cause.

There were 20 passengers on board, citizens of Lithuania, Latvia, Finland, Ukraine, Estonia, and Poland.
