The Senate of Vilnius University has decided to award an honorary doctorate degree French President Emmanuel Macron.
A solemn ceremony will be held next week (September 28 - October 4) during Macron's visit to Vilnius, the university said. Its rector Rimvydas Petrauskas says the French leader was awarded the degree for his visionary idea of an alliance of European universities by creating joint networks of European universities and expanding the Erasmus+ exchange initiative.
