VILNIUS – Vilnius will host a session of the Assembly of the Lithuanian, Polish and Ukrainian parliaments next week, the Lithuanian Seimas press service said on Wednesday.
"At this difficult time for Ukraine and Europe, it's particularly important to coordinate action, for the Lithuanian, Polish and Ukrainian parliaments to cooperate closely and to pool international support," Speaker of the Lithuanian Seimas Viktorija Cmilyte-Nielsen said.
The Assembly on December 6-7 will be attended by Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk and Marshal of the Polish Senate Tomasz Grodzki.
On Tuesday, the Presidium of the Assembly will meet, and the meeting will be virtually attended by Robert Kelly Menendez, chairman of the US Senate Foreign Relations Committee. The event will be attended by the speakers of the national parliaments, the chairs of the Foreign Affairs Committees and the secretaries of delegations.
On Wednesday, the Assembly's 12th session will be opened with speeches by the speakers of the parliaments, followed by committee meetings. The Assembly will continue its work during a plenary sitting, and it will end with the adoption of a final document.
