VILNIUS – Vilnius has started collecting a tourist fee of 1 euro per spent night as of Jul 1, with exemptions for minors and disabled people.
A special exemption will also be in place for larger groups of tourists until the end of this year.
Vilnius authorities expect the city budget to get around 2 million euros from the new fee next year.
Accommodation providers will be responsible for the collection of the tourist fee which will not be included into room prices.
