VILNIUS - Medical personnel, airport staff and other authorities will on Tuesday take part in an exercise simulating the arrival in Vilnius Airport of a passenger suspected of having a dangerous contagious disease.
The first-ever civil protection functional exercise of this scale will take place at the capital's airport and Vilnius University Hospital Santaros Klinikos, and will involve 14 institutions.
The Health Ministry says such exercises are aimed at preparing for extreme situations, adding that the risk of the spread of the simulated disease is assessed in Europe as particularly low.
