RIGA - The United States and Denmark are planning to join the NATO Strategic Communications Center of Excellence (NATO StratCom COE) in Riga.
The government today approved legislation on the accession of the U.S. Department of Defense and the Danish Foreign Ministry to the memorandum of understanding signed by the NATO StratCom COE member countries.
The United States will assign an officer to work at NATO StratCom COE's Doctrine, Concept and Experimentation Branch, as well as make annual contributions necessary to run the center.
In turn, the Danish Foreign Ministry is planning to assign a Diplomatic Service employee to work as a senior advisor at the Doctrine, Concept and Experimentation Branch. Denmark will also make the annual contributions necessary for the center's operation.
