Last year 72,800 people in Latvia were unemployed, according to the results of the Labor Force Survey conducted by the Central Statistical Bureau.
Compared to 2017, number of unemployed persons dropped by 12,600 or 14.8 percent. Last year, Latvian unemployment rate constituted 7.4 percent, which is 1.3 percentage points lower than in 2017. Unemployment rate among females still was lower than among males – 6.4 percent and 8.4 percent, respectively.
