VILNIUS – As some businesses are laying off people due to the existing quarantine, Lithuanian Prime Minister Saulius Skvernelis says the figures are not dramatic.
"The figures are not dramatic as the number of hired people is also rising. Some businesses are losing and others are hiring, the difference is not big," he told journalists at the parliament on Tuesday.
Skvernelis also said businesses can apply for state assistance already.
Unemployment rose by 0.5 percentage points last week and stood at 10.3 percent on April 6, figures from the Employment Service show.
