KYIV – Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal called on Estonia to support the indefinite freezing of Russian assets in the European Union.
Shmyhal discussed the continuation of comprehensive support for Ukraine with the newly appointed Estonian Prime Minister Kristen Michal.
"I wished the new government of Estonia success in its work. Thank you for the powerful support since the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion in the military, humanitarian and energy fields. This is very important for us in the context of preparing for the new heating period," Shmyhal wrote on Telegram on Wednesday.
"I informed my colleague about Russia's constant bomb attacks and energy terrorism. I talked about the needs of restoration work," he added.
According to Shmyhal, the sanctions policy against Russia as well as the freezing of Russian assets in the European Union were also discussed.
"We appreciate Estonia's support for the Ukrainian president's peace formula. We look forward to continued close cooperation between our governments," he said.
