VILNIUS – President Volodymyr Zelensky says that there is no area where Ukrainians do not feel Lithuania's support.
"Military assistance, political, economic, and humanitarian – there is no area in which Ukraine would not feel Lithuania's sincerity and determination," he said via a video link at an event hosted by Vytautas Magnus University on Friday to mark the first anniversary of Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
Ukraine will remember and appreciate this forever, according to the president.
"And I believe that this year we can add another element to our history. Our common victory," he said.
Zelensky said the world must be given guarantees that evil will not return.
"The Ukrainian Peace Formula consists of ten points providing exactly these guarantees," he said.
Kyiv has unveiled a 10-point peace plan that demands the complete withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine's territory and the establishment of an international tribunal to prosecute Russia's political and military leadership for aggression.
According to Zelensky, the heroic sacrifices of Ukrainian soldiers will stop Russian aggression.
"Our cooperation with you and with the whole world will do so. Our peace formula will do so," he said.
In the Ukrainian leader's words, the peace plan will ensure security in Europe.
He concluded his speech by saying, "I do not doubt that Lithuania will be on this path with us."
Launched on February 24, 2022, Russia's full-scale invasion has caused enormous damage to Ukraine, killing tens of thousands of people, destroying its infrastructure and forcing millions to leave their homes.
