UK to continue the started geopolitical course under Truss - Karins

RIGA - As former foreign secretary Liz Truss takes up the position of the British prime minister, the UK will continue the started geopolitical course, said Latvian Prime Minister Krisjanis Karins (New Unity) in a press conference after the cooperation meeting today. 

Karins is positive about Truss' new position, saying that Latvian Foreign Minister Edgars Rinkevics (New Unity) so far has had successful cooperation with Truss as the foreign secretary.

"The UK is an important NATO partner, supporting security of our region and promoting support to Ukraine," said Karins.

Britain’s Foreign Secretary Liz Truss has won the Conservative Party vote to be its new leader and will become the country’s new prime minister, replacing Boris Johnson.
