UAE minister of state and delegation to arrive in Latvia on working visit

RIGA - The Minister of State to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Cabinet at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, will arrive in Latvia on a working visit on May 22, LETA was told at the Latvian Foreign Ministry. 

The minister of state will be accompanied by the Minister of State for Foreign Trade at the Ministry of Economics of the United Arab Emirates, Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, and the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Investment, Mohammed Abdul Rahman Al Hawi, the ministry said.

In Latvia, the delegation will have meetings with President Edgars Rinkevics, Prime Minister Evika Silina (New Unity), Foreign Minister Baiba Braze, and Janis Sarts, Director of the NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence (STRATCOM). The delegation will also visit Riga Technical University (RTU) to meet representatives of academia and the private sector, including start-ups.

The Latvian and Emirati officials intend to discuss current bilateral relations, including Latvia’s export promotion potential, security issues, cooperation in the academic and innovation sector, as well as other topics on the international agenda.

Ahmed Ali Al Sayegh, Minister of State at the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, together with Latvian Foreign Minister Braze will participate in the ceremonial opening of the UAE Embassy in Riga.
