The U.S. Army has confirmed that in February 2017, it will rotate its troops belonging to its Armoured Brigade Combat Teams in Eastern Europe.
It claimed that the decision was taken to increase security assurances and deterrence against Russia in the region.
The U.S. Army’s website says that the U.S. Army Europe (USAREUR) will begin receiving continuous troop rotations of the ABCT in February 2017. The decision will bring the army’s presence in Europe up to three fully-manned Army brigades.
