Representatives of the Vytautas Magnus University and the Lithuanian University of Educational Sciences have signed an integration agreement, which envisages a merger by 2018. The document was signed by board chairmen of the two universities, namely, ex-president Valdas Adamkus and Henrikas Algirdas Juskevicius, as well as rectors of both universities, and heads of senates. Under the agreement, the schools commit to improving the quality of education, the potential of science and studies, improve international competition, consolidate human, infrastructure, and financial resources.
