RIGA - Two thirds or 694 of the 1,012 confirmed Covid-19 patients in Latvia have recovered from the disease already, according to the latest information released by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control.
Two more Covid-19 patients died in Latvia in the last 24 hours, bringing the total coronavirus toll to 21, according to information released by the Center for Disease Prevention and Control. The two latest Covid-19 fatalities are in the age groups of 60 to 65 and 85 to 90. Both patients had multiple chronic illnesses.
Ilze Araja, a representative of the Center for Disease Prevention and Control, told LETA that one of the deceased patients was a resident of the Gailezers care home in Riga.
Meanwhile, according to the National Health Service's data, 27 coronavirus patients are receiving treatment in hospitals. Of these patients, 24 are cases of moderate severity and three are severe cases. Another 131 Covid-19 patients have been discharged from hospitals.
Of the 1,845 Covid-19 tests carried out in the past 24 hours three came back positive. Of the 90,968 tests carried out so far in Latvia, 1,012 have been positive, data from the Center for Disease Prevention and Control shows.
