RIGA - Two more residents of Latvia returning from a ski resort in Italy have been confirmed to have Covid-19 coronavirus, bringing the total number of coronavirus cases in Latvia to ten, the Center for Disease Prevention and Control said.

So far, 291 people have been tested for Covid-19 in Latvia, including 17 in the last 24 hours.

The Disease Prevention and Control Center's representative Ilze Araja told LETA that the last two of those infected with coronavirus were from the same group of tourists that had recently returned from Italy, where seven people had tested positive for coronavirus. All patients remain at their homes under the supervision of their family physicians, she said.

As reported, the first case of Covid-19 in Latvia was registered on March 2 - it was a Riga resident who arrived in Riga from Munich on February 29, but had traveled to Italy before that.
