RIGA - The traffic safety situation in Latvia is currently satisfactory, although 44 people have lost their already lives this year on Latvia's roads, Civil Police Chief Normunds Krapsis told members of the press today.
Compared to the same period last year, the number of deaths this year has remained almost identical. Police data also show that the number fines issued have not lessened.
Krapsis drew attention to the fact that the State Police and society as a whole are not satisfied with the above mentioned.
