The State Police's Internal Affairs Department has detained three police officers on suspicion of soliciting bribes.
Spokeswoman from the Internal Affairs Department Diana Petersa informed LETA that during a special investigation, an inspector at a police precinct in the Latgale Regional Police Department was detained for demanding a 1,500-euro bribe for influencing the result of a petition submitted to the department.
The mentioned officer has since been detained and taken into custody as a security measure.
