RIGA - There are currently no signals that any provocations are being prepared for May 9, Interior Minister Rihards Kozlovskis (New Unity) told TV3 this morning.

Speaking about May 9, he said that there were currently no signals that any provocations are being prepared, while the responsible services are carefully preparing for this day and will be working on heightened alert both on May 9 and 10.

Kozlovskis said that various security measures could be changed depending on the situation, but there was currently no information about any possible attempts to escalate the situation on May 9.

However, the Minister pointed out that various provocations are being prepared in general and could be activated in the future. Kozlovskis cited the situation on the Latvian-Belarusian border and the recent attack on the Occupation Museum as examples.

"We are in a hybrid war," he reminded, pointing out that various challenges are present almost on a daily basis.
