Delska CEO Andris Gailitis highlights the company’s 25-year journey as a leading data centers and network operator in Northern Europe. The CEO emphasizes the recent merger, expansion plans, commitment to sustainability, and innovative IT solutions that empower businesses globally.
What services do you offer?
As a carrier-neutral data center and network operator with 25 years of experience, we provide individual IT and network solutions. We place a high focus on security, quality, and sustainability. Delska customers from over 40 countries benefit from a comprehensive range of IT services, including cloud, servers, security, network solutions, and managed services. Our automated self-service cloud platform, myDelska, allows businesses to manage their IT resources efficiently by purchasing and instantly deploying virtual machines and expanding their infrastructure.
With partners, we manage a 3,000-kilometer Baltic Highway network connecting Tallinn, Riga, Vilnius, Warsaw, and Frankfurt. With high data transfer rates, we can efficiently handle data-intensive operations.
Our customers come from various industries, such as retail, e-commerce, logistics, HoReCa, healthcare, etc. We also serve the IT needs of banks, telco companies, and government offices.

For telecom providers and enterprises with complex needs, we offer a wide range of data transmission services and advanced connectivity options.
25 years in business is not a joke! What major milestones are worth mentioning?
We've faced many challenges on our journey but always found a way to overcome them. DEAC was established in 1999; the year after, the first underground data center was opened in Riga. Throughout the journey, the company strengthened its position in export markets. In 2009, we opened a second data center in Riga, the largest in the Baltics. In 2010, the Data Logistics Center (DLC) was founded in Lithuania.
Both companies started their joint journey in 2020 by becoming part of Swiss Quaero European Infrastructure Fund II. Since then, development and infrastructure expansion have accelerated. In June 2024, DEAC and DLC merged into the Delska brand.
Along the way, we have achieved several certifications and sustainability goals. However, the launch of myDelska Cloud Platform in 2023 is another significant milestone as we have stepped into fully automatic services deployment. Backed by our data center expertise and thorough research, it was built to offer features that even large global providers don't have - unlimited traffic, own backup policies, instant service delivery in a matter of seconds and many other user-friendly options to make lives of developers and IT specialists easier.
Why the merger?
Rebranding embarks on closer cooperation between companies and an expanded services portfolio, offering sophisticated IT infrastructure and network solutions for clients across multiple locations. We are building regional data centers and network ecosystem.
The heart of the new brand is customers. Our vision is to provide the most personal technology behind the business and empower companies to succeed. Delska's core values are openness, flexibility, and reliability.
What sets Delska apart from other data centers and network operators in Eastern and Central Europe?
Delska provides diverse locations, extensive infrastructure and competitive pricing for companies aiming to establish a presence in the Baltics. Additionally, our data centers benefit from Northern Europe's cold climate, which reduces cooling costs and enhances sustainability. Delska has also invested in IT infrastructure and energy efficiency, including upgrading cooling systems and using the Riga data center heat for office heating.
What is next for Delska in 2025?
In October, we celebrated a significant construction milestone—the Topping-out event—for the upcoming Tier III-certified, 10 MW data center in Riga. As one of only 20 LEED-certified buildings in Latvia, the data center will set new standards for green construction and energy efficiency in the Baltic region. The project will be launched in August 2025 and house up to 1,000 racks.
The 6,000-square-meter facility is designed for scalability, potentially expanding up to 30 MW on owned land. It is ideal for hyperscalers, artificial intelligence, and high-power computing needs. It will have redundant connectivity with major global network providers to connect customers' business branches and reduce latency to regional users across Europe.
Delska's growth plans include building a new data center in Lithuania and adding additional players soon.
How important is sustainability?
Sustainability and reducing carbon footprint are Delska's priorities. Our data centers are powered by 100% green electricity, and backup generators use Neste MY diesel derived from renewable materials. We are also investing in advanced cooling systems and other energy efficiency measures. Minimizing energy costs is a fundamental part of our business strategy.
Due to our goal of achieving net zero CO2 by 2030, the new Riga facility will also be entirely powered by renewable energy. Additionally, the facility will be equipped with an energy-efficient and innovative Vindur® CoolW@ll cooling system and operate at a power usage effectiveness (PUE) under 1.3.
