In the now traditional public survey, the silver collector coin "Flow", featuring the characters from the Oscar-winning animated film that have won people's hearts worldwide, was named Latvia's Coin of the Year 2025.

In the public survey conducted by Latvijas Banka and the news portal Delfi.lv from 31 March to 13 April, everyone had the opportunity to vote for the most outstanding collector coin released in 2025. This year, nearly 29 thousand votes were received in the survey, including almost 12 thousand votes for the coin "Flow".

The collector coin "Flow" issued by Latvijas Banka in December 2025 is special as its graphic design is the result of a creative collaboration between Gints Zilbalodis, the film's director, and Pēteris Tenisons, the animation artist. One side of the coin features the legendary dark grey cat, while the other – five friends, each distinct yet side by side, bound by an unforgettable experience. Between the two sides – a breathtaking odyssey, as they share a single boat, fleeing the floods.

In 2025, five collector coins were issued – each dedicated to Latvia's culture, history, and other significant and noteworthy topics:

- "Our Land" (video story); graphic design: Māris Upenieks;

- "Sun and Wind" (video story); graphic design: Krišs Salmanis, plaster model: Ligita Franckeviča

- "Džemma" (video story); graphic design: Juris Petraškevičs

- "Latvian Book – 500" (video story); graphic design: Anete Melece-Olivadoti; plaster model: Jānis Strupulis;

- "Flow" (video story); graphic design: Gints Zilbalodis and Pēteris Tenisons.

Coins "Sun and Wind", "Džemma", and "Latvian Book – 500" are still available for purchase on the website e-monetas.lv/en or in person at the Cashier's Office of Latvijas Banka (Riga, Bezdelīgu iela 3).

Voters entered a draw for 15 collector coins. The names of the winners are published on the website bank.lv. Latvijas Banka will personally contact each winner to arrange the delivery of their prizes.

The widely beloved silver coin "Cabbage" became Latvia's Coin of the Year 2024 (video story), and it was globally recognised as the best silver coin in the international numismatics competition "Coin of the Year". The graphic design of the coin was created by artist Mārtiņš Rozenfelds.

Since 2004, when Latvijas Banka organised the first public vote, the following coins have been named Latvia's Coin of the Year: "Coin of Time", "Baron Münchhausen", "Coin of Digits", "Coin of Time II", "Lucky Coin", "Coin of Water", "Amber Coin", "Fog Mists the Pane", "5-lats Silver Collector Coin", "Baby Coin", "Baroque of Courland", "Fairy Tale Coin I. The design of Latvian coins has earned high international recognition. They are regularly honoured with prestigious awards in various competitions.
