RIGA - Yesterday, on March 26, with magnificent opening event in a new food-court "Centrālais Gastro Tirgus” the 30th season of the RIGA FASHION WEEK started, and it will gather international fashion society in the capital of Latvia till March 30. This anniversary season of RFW will once again celebrate the best of local fashion and make one more step in the development of Latvian fashion industry.
RIGA FASHION WEEK official opening event yesterday, on March 26, took place in a new food-court “Centrālais Gastro Tirgus”, in one of the Riga Central Market pavilions, it brought together nearly 500 guests who were introduced to the latest collections of the two Latvian fashion brands Public Makes Image and BLCV by Bulichev. The organizers of RIGA FASHION WEEK chose this place significantly to reflect the different spectrum of both fashion world as such and also the Latvian fashion brands. In this trendy location, the guests of the opening event enjoyed the atmosphere of the European multicultural metropolis, the best of the Latvian contemporary democratic street fashion and the cuisine and drinks of various kitchens, as well as a great party at the end of the evening.
Though today, on March 27, the annual Latvian Fashion Awards ceremony in Wellton Riverside SPA Hotel will reveal the best of last year’s professionals in the local fashion industry and their achievements in Latvia and abroad.
On the following days RFW program will include fashion shows by such Latvian designers as Natalija Jansone, One Wolf, NARCISS by Alise Trautmane, Katya Katya London, Amoralle, BLCV by Bulichev, Public Makes Image, Bergs Privé, Anna Led, Baiba Ladiga, Iveta Vecmane. Traditionally RFW program will include also a kidswear show by Aristocrat Kids, Zaza Couture and Rock and Mouse. Within the 30th RIGA FASHION WEEK their AW2019/20 collections will also be present by a few international designers: Diana Arno (Estonia), Morfosis (Italy) and Agnė Kuzmickaitė (Lithuania).
This RIGA FASHION WEEK season is unique also due to the fact that many designer brands will present their collections in their own boutiques, thus RFW guests will be able to discover how multilateral Latvian fashion and design are. For example, on March 27 the presentations will be in Elīna Dobele boutique and in the recently opened The Secret Garden saloon, also the brand NONAME Atelier will introduce its new collection in boutique NONAME Place. On March 28 the Art Gallery PUTTI will host the opening of the Estonian contemporary jewellery artists’ exhibition “ESTONISHING! MIGLA/UDUJUTT”. On the same day RFW long-term partner BOLD Concept Store organizes a party “GO BOLD OR GO HOME”. On Friday, March 29, the 4th day of RIGA FASHION WEEK will be opened by the brand AMERI that will present its newest collection in their own store in Bergs Bazaar. In the evening the brand MCouture comes with the event “STILS soirée à MСouture Studio” in their studio.
On March 28 a professional event for media and buyers – a presentation of the Baltic designer collections – will be held in INTRO Showroom in the shopping mall Galleria Riga.
This spring the program of RIGA FASHION WEEK will include two parties organized with RFW partners. On Friday, March 29, RFW Afterparty with the fashion show by the brand VOLGA Vintage will take place in Coyote Fly Lounge Club. On the last day of RFW, Saturday, March 30, in the same club everybody is welcome to enjoy the night and the fashion show by the boutique “Sportique”. During these two events guests will be entertained by such popular DJs as Markus Riva, Ma Lina, Makree and Magnuss Eriņš.
Celebrating the thirtieth anniversary of RIGA FASHION WEEK, the most significant Latvian fashion events are summarized in a retrospective photo exhibition. Several of the photos included in the exhibition will be exposed during the coming RFW at the Radisson Blu Hotel Latvija from March 28 to 30.
