Tet, a leading technology company, has achieved victory in a pan-European public procurement organized by GÉANT, the European research and education data network, with its innovative TetCloud data storage solution.
"We are pleased that our focused efforts over several years to expand a secure and reliable data storage infrastructure beyond Latvia have culminated in a pan-European success," emphasizes Tet's CEO, Uldis Tatarčuks. "We continuously monitor the geopolitical situation and recognize that data security and the demand for secure IT infrastructure are growing worldwide. This is why we work to improve existing solutions and introduce new innovations. We see that our solution is competitive not only in Latvia but also in the Baltic market."
The agreements will provide extensive business opportunities across the Baltic region in the field of education. The GÉANT network connects research projects ranging from biology to arts and culture.
Tet specialists note that the preparation of the proposal for the pan-European procurement was an extensive and demanding process. The process involved meticulous planning of potential workflows, teamwork, risk management, and other critical aspects. To secure the victory, the evaluation considered not only data security but also the support services for the proposed solution, online content accessibility guidelines, sustainability aspects, and other criteria. The project proposal was submitted in May last year, with the results announced at the end of October. Preparations for the successful implementation of the project, which will commence in February 2025, are now underway.
