RIGA - Tervete Nature Park is closed to visitors until next week due to major damage that the park sustained during a thunderstorm on Monday.
A powerful storm swept across the nature park around noon today, breaking trees, damaging infrastructure, wooden sculptures and others.
Luckily, no one was hurt as all staff members and visitors were able to leave the area. The park has been closed until next week.
The history of Tervete National Park goes back to 1958, at the moment the park covers an area of more than 1,200 hectares.
