RIGA - The commission of the tender for the Competition Council head has made a decision to close the tender without a result, LETA learned from the State Chancellery.
The tender was announced on April 1. The tender commission shortlisted four out of 12 candidates for the second stage of the tender.
The tender commission assessed motivation of the applicants and their vision about priorities of the Competition Council, as well as their overall performance, answering questions. The commission decided not to nominate any of the four applicants for the position.
"We will continue the selection process to find the best candidate for the position," said Economics Minister Janis Vitenbergs (KPV LV).
As reported, former Competition Council head Skaidrite Abrama decided to step down as the Competition Council head in April. Abrama has been in the position since June 2012. She was approved for a second term in the office in 2017.
