TALLINN - On Friday, Enefit will open Estonia's first covered electric vehicle charging hub in the Green Park (Roheline Park) development in Tartu.

The facility, with 14 charging points, will offer a convenient, safe, and weather-proof charging experience for both local residents and visitors to the city. It is the largest and most modern public charging area in Southern Estonia.

"Our goal is to make charging an electric car as natural as refueling a conventional one. The Green Park charging hub combines Scandinavian-style architecture with practical functionality - it is well-lit, weather-proof, and accessible at all times. The solution is the first of its kind both in the Enefit charging network and in all of Estonia," said Kelli Toss-Kaasik, chairman of the board at Enefit.

According to her, the new infrastructure is an important step in increasing the availability of electric vehicle charging.

Raul Jeets, head of Green Park, emphasized the collaborative effort's impact on the entire region. "In cooperation with Enefit, we have built a charging area that is more than just a technical facility - it is part of a functional and user-friendly urban environment. This collaboration enhances the quality of the region's infrastructure and supports our vision of Green Park as a modern and sustainable business and service environment."

The Green Park charging hub features seven chargers and 14 charging points, including two fast chargers that allow for the simultaneous charging of multiple vehicles. The chargers, previously available only to the office buildings' tenants, will be open to all electric vehicle users starting in the spring of 2025. Along with the renovated area, an information board will also be unveiled, telling the story of the Enefit charging network's development.

The charging network in Southern Estonia is set to expand further. More powerful chargers and a 300 kW ultra-fast charger will soon be installed at the Green Park hub. Additionally, in collaboration with the developer, Enefit will install three new fast chargers in front of the Gardest home and garden center, which, together with the Green Park hub, will form one of the region's largest charging nodes.
