TALLINN – The Estonian Competition Authority on Friday notified the listed water services company Tallinna Vesi of a further extension of the deadline for the company's response in an ongoing tariff dispute until April 23, 2019, the listed water services company informed the stock exchange.

On December 6, 2018 the Competition Authority notified AS Tallinna Vesi that it is required to submit explanations regarding the price components serving as a basis of the prices of water services. The request for an explanation is linked to an ongoing supervisory review procedure.

The extension announced on Friday is the third such extension, after adjournments of the deadline respectively until January 30 and April 1 earlier.

The Competition Authority' supervisory review procedure is linked to the rejection on December 4, 2018 of a tariff application by Tallinna Vesi for Tallinn and the town of Saue situated not far from Tallinn. Specifically, the Competition Authority considers the prices of water services provided by the company in Tallinn and the town of Saue to be non-compliant with the requirements specified in the Public Water Supply and Sewerage Act.
