TALLINN - This week, the second meeting of the Baltic Sea e-Nav project of the year took place in Tallinn, with 37 delegates from almost all countries bordering the Baltic Sea participating.

"Issues related to the production of S-100 data layers were discussed at the meeting," Peeter Väling, head of the hydrographic department of the Estonian Transport Administration, said.

According to him, the goal is for the countries participating in the project to be able to produce the S-100 data layers included in the project by the end of 2026.

The INTERREG project, which started at the end of last year, focuses on the implementation of the new international hydrographic standard S-100 in the Baltic Sea region. The standard includes electronic navigational charts along with several additional data layers and aims to improve the safety and efficiency of maritime navigation.

The previous meeting this year took place in Helsinki in the spring, while the next one will take place in the new year, also in Finland.
