TALLINN - The listed Estonian shipper Tallink Grupp will open its fourth restaurant of the fast food chain Burger King at the Lasnamae Centrum shopping center in Tallinn in June.
Before the Lasnamae Burger King, Tallink will also open restaurants in the Rocca al Mare mall in April and in the waiting pavilion of the Balti jaam train station and the Ulemiste mall in May. The four new restaurants will employ a total of 80 people, Tallink said.
In the first half of 2020, Tallink Grupp plans to open four Burger King restaurants in Tallinn and a total of eight restaurants across the Baltics during the full year 2020.
In September of last year, Tallink Grupp announced it acquired the Burger King franchise rights for the Baltic countries. In fall, Tallink established a subsidiary, OU Tallink Fast Food, for operating the restaurants. The subsidiary, in turn, has registered subsidiaries in Lithuania and Latvia.
With the launch and operation of restaurants in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, the company is to create approximately 800 new jobs in the Baltics. Tallink Grupp holds 20-year franchises for Burger King restaurants in each of the three countries.
