RIGA - The Estonian ferry operator Tallink is not planning on resuming the Riga-Stockholm ferry route in the near future, the company's press secretary Katri Link told LETA.

She explained that after two very challenging years of the pandemic, followed by geopolitical and economic upheaval related to the war in Ukraine, Tallink is currently focusing on restoring operations on key routes, namely between Estonia, Finland and Sweden.

"Once we have restored operations and business on the main routes, we will again begin to consider options beyond those main routes," Link said, adding that it is not yet possible to answer when this will happen.

Tallink suspended the Riga-Stockholm route three years ago because of the Covid-19 pandemic.
