TALLINN – Tallink Grupp has announced that it has reopened the doors of its Tallink Hotel Riga today, 14 April 2023, ending the period of two and a half years of suspended operations, caused by travel restrictions in Latvia and in the wider Baltic Sea region due to the Covid pandemic and their aftermath on the entire hospitality sector.
Commenting on the reopening of the operations of Tallink Hotel Riga, Ave Svarts, Management Board Member of Tallink Hotels said:
- “We are pleased to reopen our Riga hotel ahead of the spring and summer high season. We invite everyone to visit beautiful Riga, where the major sights and attractions are just a stone’s throw away from our hotel. While our operations in Riga were temporarily suspended, and despite challenging times, we were busy updating the hotel services, concepts and processes to meet the safety standards in the post-COVID world as well as the changed expectations of our customers. We are most delighted to offer even greener and more sustainable accommodation services to our good guests - we invite everyone to visit us again and stay in our hotel in the heart of Riga.”
Tallink Grupp temporarily suspended operations of the Tallink Hotel Riga, located in the city centre of the Latvian capital, from 18 October 2020 due to a significant drop in guest numbers and bookings, as a result of Covid related travel restrictions in place in Latvia and neighbouring countries.
Tallink Hotels currently operates four hotels in the Baltics - three in Tallinn, Estonia: the Tallink Spa & Conference Hotel, the Tallink Express Hotel and the Tallink City Hotel; and Tallink Hotel Riga in the Latvian capital.
