Tallink Grupp donated almost EUR 5,500 to the Estonian Reserve Forces Fund to support the strengthening of reservists' capabilities. Employees of Tallink Grupp from Estonia and other Baltic Sea countries contributed to the donation.

“It is important to us that people feel safe and protected, not only in Estonia but across the entire Baltic Sea region. This also gives people greater confidence to travel, enjoy memorable experiences, and embrace life. Reservists – thousands of men and women among us – play a vital role in fostering this sense of security through their willingness to defend the homeland. As a company that connects the shores of the Baltic Sea, Tallink feels a natural responsibility to support those who safeguard freedom and security in this region,” said Peep Jalakas, Chairman of the Management Board of AS Tallink Grupp.

The donation amounts to €5,485 and was raised from ticket sales for the company’s employee recognition event. The donation, which has been directed to the Reserve Forces Fund, will support Estonian reservists by providing them with the necessary equipment, thereby making a direct contribution to Estonia’s security.

“The Reserve Forces Fund, established in cooperation between the Ministry of Defence and the National Defence Promotion Foundation, has, in a short time, become an important bridge between the Estonian people and national defence,” noted Mait Palts, Head of the National Defence Promotion Foundation. “In two years, the fund has raised more than €450,000, which has been used to increase drone capabilities and support training. We are currently raising funds for the acquisition of drone detectors. Tallink Grupp’s support significantly enhances the capabilities of reservists,” Palts added.

For years, Tallink Grupp has supported its employee reservists in participating in training assemblies. During the exercise period, the company continues to pay its reservists and offers flexible working arrangements to make fulfilling national defence obligations as smooth as possible for employees. The Ministry of Defence has recognised the company with its "Supporter of National Defence" label for several years for these activities.

During the ongoing Reservists' Week, the company is offering national defenders discounts on sea travel and products in its e-shop. In addition, Tallink Grupp has participated in other activities supporting national defence, including offering support for the Spring Storm exercise and contributing to the awards pool of the Scouts' Hike.

As a maritime transport company, Tallink Grupp has also helped organise humanitarian shipments in support of Ukraine. During the early years of the full-scale war in Ukraine, the company made the passenger vessel Isabelle available to accommodate refugees arriving in Estonia.
